On behalf of the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, we are currently carrying out investigations in connection with the large-scale landslide there.

To this end, 4 core holes will be drilled to depths of over 50 m and installed with instrumentation to monitor the slide mechanism. The aim of the investigations is, among other things, to evaluate the position of the slip planes in order to then develop a concept that should enable the sliding body to be monitored and statements to be made on measures to stabilize it.
