After a planning phase of several years, the construction work for the building complex on the Hoffnig Areal in Dübendorf (ZH) has started at the beginning of July, 2018. With a ground plan of 70 x 200 m and excavation depths of approximately 10 m the impressive building project shows considerable dimensions.

Our office received the assignment by the developer (Senn Resources AG / Pensimo Management AG) to accompany the project in terms of geological and geotechnical aspects. Thereby, we are responsible for all matters related to excavation, securing of the construction pit, ground water management, foundations and soil contaminants. Furthermore, 10 inclinometers will be drilled down to a depth of 15 to 20 m and their measurements frequently analysed in order to monitor the stability of the construction pit. For vibration measurements, which will also be carried out by us, 5 geophones will be installed next to sensitive neighbouring buildings. This before the background, that normal operations on the adjacent train and tram tracks may not be impaired.
